Band 8 Academic IELTS report
The table gives information about languages that have the highest number of native speakers and also the number of people who speak these languages as an additional language. Overall, Mandarin Chinese has the maximum number of speakers followed by English, Hindi and Spanish. Languages with the fewest speakers are Portuguese followed by Arabic. In terms of native speakers, Mandarin Chinese has 900 million native speakers and stands distinctly ahead of other languages in terms of native speakers. Hindi is a distant second at 370 million, followed by Spanish, English, Arabic and Portuguese at 350, 339, 206 and 203 million respectively. All languages except English have more native speakers than non-native speakers. There are 603 million people who use English as a second language compared to the 339 million who have English as their native language. Non native Chinese speaking population is far behind at 190 million. Hindi, Spanish, Arabic and Portuguese is spoken as a second language by 120, 70, 24 and 10 million respectively.

The given table compares the number of native and non native speakers of six different languages. Table also depicts total number of users of each language.
Overall, It is clear that Mandarin Chinese is used by highest number of native speakers whereas English is highly popular among non natives . Significant number of users use Chinese while Portuguese have least number of speakers.
900 million people use Chinese in their communication followed by Hindi, Spanish and English with 370 million, 350 million and 339 million respectively. As compare to Arabic, 3 million less speakers use Portuguese.
On the other hand, English is spoken by 603 million as an additional language. Chinese and Hindi is used by more than 100 million while non- native speakers of Spanish, Arabic and Portuguese are less than 100 million.
Total, 1,090 million use Chinese allover. English, Hindi and Spanish remain at second, third and fourth place in terms of total number of users. In contrast, Arabic and Portuguese come on the fifth and sixth place with 230 and 213 million users.
This seems band 6.5 to me.
