Generally speaking, exercising is beneficial for children and teens / adolescents. For that reason, some people argue / insist that physical education and sport should be obligatory for all pupils in all schools. I strongly agree with the aforementioned statement because physical activity has a positive impact on students’ mental and physical development.
To begin with, playing sports and games keep students healthier and smarter. For example, a recent study in the UK concluded that doing exercise from early ages decreases the possibilities of health problems such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension and cancer by 70%. As a result, they will lead a healthy life style and that could consequently increase their life expectancy.
Furthermore, the subjects of physical education and sport will teach students discipline and responsibility because these kinds of subjects involve training in areas like patience and endurance. For instance, a 2010 study in the US found that children and teens who play sports and games are more disciplined and responsible than those who do not.Consequently, they would be successful in their future as patience and endurance are the core of success in any field.
To sum up, I absolutely believe that the subjects of physical education and sport should be mandatory for pupils in all schools. Health benefits and prospects of future success are the reasons for the abovementioned argument.

To keep fit, one should regularly exercise from a young age. To encourage children and adolescents to maintain a healthy body, it is generally accepted that mandatory sports and physical education are to be included in school curriculum. This essay explains my viewpoints fully supporting this concept.
To begin with, in olden days, children were more active, they used to spend more time on the fields playing cricket, football, etc. which automatically kept up their stamina and body in good shape. With the modern advancement of technologies and the change in life style, most of the young people tend to stay away from extracurricular activities especially from sports. As a result, obesity is found to be seen in children at the very early stages itself. Regular exercise is a must for young people to build a healthy body.
Secondly, physical education gives a stress free atmosphere for pupils. Studying for hours is a stressful experience for students. The sports activities like football, basketball and tennis would rejuvenate them with lots of positivity. Though it is not advisable to conduct strenuous exercise like weight lifting at school level, considering the age and healing factors the majority of the sports can be included in the syllabus. Swimming is a good exercise which can be part of the prospects which is good for relaxation as well as losing weight.
Thirdly, physical education at school level brings up many athletes, who might become the stars of our future. Also this gives an opportunity for kids to get recognized in schools, exclusively for the kids who are backward in academics and good in sports. Hence, making sports compulsory at the academic level will help to bring out the hidden talents of children.
To conclude, physical education is essential for all students in the school to have a healthy life both physically and mentally. If they develop a liking for sports from a young age, they will carry it forward into their adulthood and stay healthy throughout their lives.
