Who doesn’t like ditching work, taking a vacation, and traveling to their favorite destination for holidays? The short answer is no one. Looking at the current trend, many people will prefer visiting places within the country rather than taking a trip to foreign countries. This essay will discuss both arguments whether one would want to travel inside the country or go outside and share my opinion as to why the latter is the better approach than the former one.
Traveling in own country has a plethora of the benefits which would incline someone’s view towards it. Local visits not only help save money but also provides a sense of security since you are not that far away from your home. Also, you do not have to worry about the different currencies, acquiring visas, cultures or etiquettes, etc. For instance, you will have to spend from 2 lacs and upwards on foreign extravagant trips such as Switzerland, whereas domestic ones will be within a 1 lac budget. Lastly, restrictions for Covid-19 will be uniform across the nation.
On the flip side, the essence of a relaxing vacation is to forget about the stress, learn and explore new things, rejuvenate yourself and start afresh. There would be a limited number of options in a country that can be visited and it would be a further smaller count if your country is tiny. Secondly, other countries provide the exact experience that you may never get to live in your country. For example, a Europe tour will definitely be worth spending the money on, because it provides a close view of the cultures, people, historic and magnificent places of 27 different countries. You can not compare that with local tourism, no matter what.
To recapitulate, there is wide popularity of traveling abroad but looking at the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be future trends of domestic vacations. While one can save a lot of money, hassle and be safe in his or her region, others feel that the true joy of outing lies outside the country for the reasons of learning traditions, ways of life, and exploring new paths. I agree with the view that exploring new horizons, making new friends, learning new languages give a purpose to life. It is a smaller world now thanks to technology and yes we can roam around the world now, so why not do it?
