It is considered by some that in spite of the need to build new houses, the countryside should be protected from any such constructions. In my opinion, homes are necessary and with a little bit of planning, we can construct them in the countryside without causing much damage to it.

On the one hand, with the growing population, the demand for new residences is rising. The cities are becoming over-crowded and there is always a limit to exploiting the space in the city for construction. People in cities also need to have some free space that includes parks, gardens and orchards. Thus, it is not advisable to keep on building new homes in the city. Additionally, it will increase the pollution level in the city and affect the health of residents.

Building homes in the uncultivated areas of the countryside is a solution to this problem. This area is lying unused and if it can be converted into residential space, it will ensure a fair distribution of population and will help in reducing the traffic congestion and pollution in the cities. Of course, there is some truth in the argument that countryside should be protected. However, in mu opinion, addressing the need for housing is an even bigger concern and it cannot be neglected. Hence, rather than imposing a carpet ban on all the construction activity in the rural area, the government and environmental activists should come up with a  solution to build new homes without causing much damage to the serenity of villages.

To conclude, in my opinion a diligent construction plan for new homes keeping in mind the preservation of environment in the countryside will be a win-win situation. It will not only cater to the increased demand for new houses but also preserve the beauty and purity of the countryside.

As population is increasing at a fast pace, the need to build more and more houses is also increasing rapidly. According to some people construction activity in the countryside should be avoided although land is available there. I do not agree with this view. In my opinion, it is important to address the housing needs even if it involves construction in rural areas. By extending housing schemes to the countryside, the government can also make local people the beneficiaries of that development.

I understand that some people are worried about the natural resources and beauty of countryside. They are scared that their land will be captured by big builders and businessmen. The beauty of their gardens and rivers will be spoiled by chemical extract and dust from houses or industries. While these arguments are certainly valid, it is even more important to build homes because people need a place to live in.

Also, construction activity in the countryside does not have to be at the expense of the environment. By using eco-friendly construction materials and techniques, it is possible to build homes without doing much damage to the environment. Another solution is to use only barren land for building homes. This way forests and farmlands can be protected and damage to the environment reduced.

In conclusion, I personally believe that if proper measures are taken to protect the natural resources, there is no harm in utilizing the land of rural areas for building habitats. After all, addressing housing needs is just as important as preserving the environment.

In many places, new homes are needed, but the only space available for building them is in the countryside – Band 8 IELTS essay sample 3

Nowadays, the urban areas are overcrowded and the only place where new houses can be constructed is the village side. In my opinion, having a home is a necessity so people should be allowed to build it in the countryside without damaging the pristine rural environment.

To commence with, most of the cities are already occupied and there is no space available further for building new homes. Moreover, this overcrowding in the urban areas has led to a huge traffic congestion and the pollution rate has drastically increased over the decades. For this reason, the governments of many developed countries have started to allocate lands in the metro cities to build parks and zoo sanctuaries instead of residential complexes. For instance, in Chennai the government has passed an order to build at least one park in a 20 kilometer radius to reduce the overcrowding and also for the residents to get fresh air and space in their neighbourhood.

On the other hand, when many people shift to countryside more transport facilities in and around the village could be developed. Furthermore, the land rates are cheaper in the village and many middle class people can afford to build a good home there. Eventually, when many people move to the countryside more job opportunities will be created for the village dwellers enabling them to lead a good life like the urban residents. Meanwhile it is very important to maintain the natural environment without damaging or polluting the area while constructing new buildings. For example, a province in Indonesia developed a project called Green Project where educational institutes and shopping malls were built on the outskirts of the city to develop the transport facility in the rural area and also to balance the environmental pollution level.

To summarise, overcrowding of urban areas has led to space constraints and higher pollution levels. In my opinion it is better to build new houses on the outskirts of the city so that the people can lead a healthier life amidst the natural environment.

In many places, new homes are needed, but the only space available for building them is in the countryside – Band 7 IELTS essay sample

In this modern world, many countries are struggling to provide new homes to their denizens. According to some people, new homes ought to be constructed in the countryside, while others do not support this viewpoint. Personally I believe that building new homes in the countryside is necessary but large scale construction activity should not be permitted.

To begin with, all sprawling cities are dealing with space constraints which hinder the construction of new homes. Due to this affordability has become a big concern for the middle and lower income level groups residing in these areas. By constructing homes in the outskirts where space is vastly available, we can provide affordable homes to these sections. Besides this, it will give a big boost to the infrastructure in these less populated areas. Also, to provide basic facilities, the government will have to construct new roads, hospitals, schools and community centres which will be useful to the local population as well. However, large scale construction activity in the rural area is detrimental to the ecology.

However, I assert that building new homes in the countryside is exceedingly detrimental to the natural habitat. To build new homes, the authorities will have to clear the green space by cutting down a lot of trees and plants. Moreover, the influx of people into these rural areas will increase the commercial activities which aggravate the different types of pollution in the countryside; therefore, it is crucial to protect our rural areas from excessive construction activity. Having said that, there is no harm in building new homes in the barren areas of the countryside.

In conclusion, by using free space in the countryside we can provide affordable homes to many families and it will also prove beneficial to the local population and vacations; however, large scale construction activity should not be permitted.

The crowded cities nowadays are in demand for new residential areas but because of the shortage in space, houses need to be built in the countryside. A certain group of people opines that this could pose damage to the countryside environment. I believe construction in an environment-friendly way will be beneficial.

To begin with, the ever-expanding population has ceased the availability of land in cities and other metropolitan areas. The only available option is to migrate the residence to less populated available land, that is in the countryside. This phenomenon of migration will help to decrease the burden from the cities and also will boon the countryside economically. For instance, I myself travel almost an hour to reach my workplace as I am staying in the countryside.

On the other hand, it is true that the equilibrium in the village side may be disrupted because of the influx of foreign cultures and methodologies. But it could be kept constant by various steps taken by the government to preserve the naturality of the area. To cite an example, the place where I reside has a strict law not to damage the gardens and playgrounds. Additionally, the construction plan is fixed for all buildings with a central park which is planted with a variety of flora helping to control pollution.

To conclude, the new construction plans for living in the countryside is quite a good option but preservation of the local environmental issues should be kept in mind before such a migration.

In the last two decades, residential buildings are built in large numbers mainly in cities in order to accommodate everyone migrating to cities. It is argued by certain individuals that residential apartments should not be constructed in rural areas even though there is no land left for that in the urban areas. I agree with the statement and believe that the villages should be protected from becoming concrete jungles. The impending essay will elaborate in detail about the need to protect agriculture and stop exploitation of natural resources.
There are multiple reasons to substantiate the idea of restricting construction in rural areas. The primary reason is that building new homes will reduce the extent of agricultural land. The construction of residential apartments will occupy a considerable area of farmland which leads to reduction in productivity of that area. For example, a recent survey revealed that agriculture productivity in suburban areas is reducing due to reduction in the area for farming.
In addition, the plan of developing residential complexes in the countryside will attract more commercial establishments which lead to the exploitation of natural resources. To satisfy the need of the residents, many enterprises will start functioning and this requires huge amount of water which would be pumped from borewells or any surface water source. This will not only destroy the beauty of villages but also lower down the water available for cultivation. For example, a recent journal published by the Ministry of Natural Resources exposes that increase in establishing apartments in villages increases groundwater usage.
In conclusion, even though there is no space available in cities for habitation, it is not acceptable to use the land available in rural areas for that. In my opinion, agriculture and natural resources in the villages should not be disturbed by constructing the residential apartments. On the other hand, the advance infrastructure methods can be followed to accommodate people in cities. A right approach should be taken in order to strike a balance.
