Band 7 IELTS essay sample
First and foremost, metropolitan cities are over-packed with an astonishing rise in population and accommodating the entire population in the cities has dire repercussions. The significant issue that any city encounters is traffic congestion which leads to increased levels of harmful gases in the atmosphere. As a result, air pollution and noise pollution are deteriorating public health. For instance, in Delhi, the air quality index is 730 which is not at all advisable for human beings to live in; thus, there is a tremendous rise in asthma attack and respiratory disorders. On the other hand, if homes are built in the countryside, people will move there and that will improve the living conditions in cities. Also, building new housing in the countryside might address the housing crisis in cities.
It is often argued that new houses should only be built in cities and village areas should not be used for this purpose. However, opponents believe that the countryside ought to be preserved and there should be no new housing schemes in the region I strongly disagree with this view. In my opinion, new homes and housing should be built in the countryside because it would decrease the burden on the city population and reduce the traffic. Also, it helps in the development of the villages.
Indeed, when new buildings are built in the villages it brings a lot of benefits. It is quite remarkable that when governments build homes in the villages it would definitely improve the condition of village roads and other infrastructure issues such as school, universities and factories. Ultimately, it curbs the flow of population from one location to another. Moreover, if the new homes are made in the countryside it might address the issue of unemployment because there will probably be a rise in job opportunities. Hence, building homes in the villages might address many issues. However, some people believe that village land should be protected because more human invasion might destroy the natural habitat of that area. Fortunately, this issue could be easily addressed with the issue of modern viable solutions and technologies.
In conclusion, there is a debate on whether the village area should be considered for making new homes or not. In my perspective it should be used to mitigate the issues such as traffic problems and pollution in cities.
