In recent years, maternity leave has gradually been considered as a righteous measure for the welfare of female employees. Some people believe this action is beneficial for women and their babies, while other people deem that maternity leave may also cause some issues. This essay will discuss why the advantages of advantages of offering maternity leave outweigh the disadvantages.
The provision of maternity leave can cause some issues for the employer in terms of daily operations and human resource management. To be specific, maternity leave means that female employees are taking day-offs with pay for a few months, and during this period of time, the company needs to either get their colleagues to fill in for them or hire new employees to ensure the daily operations are not impaired. For example, if a female employee can have 3 months for her maternity break, and there are 5 people having their breaks for maternity reasons, the company may suffer a crisis of human resource, and the daily operations of this company can be severely impaired. Hence, I think the provision of maternity leave does impact the operations of the company negatively.
From the viewpoint of human rights, I think maternity leave reflects how the modern society emphasises on the well-being of women. Thanks to the feminist movements in recent decades, the whole society has obtained a better understanding of the importance for women to have maternity breaks. To explain this, research has revealed that having a break from work can be conducive for the physical health of new mothers. Moreover, the mother’s presence is crucial for the emotional and physical development of the baby. Since children are the future of any nation, ensuring their normal growth and development is of paramount importance for any country. Thus, it can be seen that maternity break is crucial for the well-being of both mothers and babies.
In conclusion, despite the disadvantages that may affect the company’s operations and management, maternity leave is proven to be beneficial for both mothers and their infants, and hence, the advantages of offering maternity leave outweigh the disadvantages. In most of the nations, women are provided with the facility of maternity leave at their workplace after the birth of their babies. Although company’s work suffer from management crisis,it provides better growth to newly born baby and mother. In my opinion allowing maternity leave is far more advantageous despite some minor issues.
The greatest benfit of taking leave is healthy growth of infant and recovery of mother. As after the birth of child initial months are highly crucial for both of them, maternity leave ensures stable physical and mental growth of baby that will eventually make them stronger internally and externally. To justify it, kids whose mother accompany them after their birth are emotionally and physically more stronger than others. It is, therefore, extremely imperative to provide maternity leave.
On the downside of the phenomenon, enterprises suffer from management issues. During maternity leave of an employee, companies either need to hire new employee or distribute the work among another employees that results into conflicts and disputes inside the company. Adding to it, company have to pay both the employees who has been hired as replacement and who will be running on leave that will certainly imbalances the financial budget of the company. Hence, allowing this leave is not considered as better option.
To conclude, allowance of maternity leave after infant’s birth is extremely considerable issue. Even though it hampers company’s management,it is undeniably beneficial for infants and mothers growth. Thus, it is far more superior to provide maternity leave.

Just a body paragraph:
Nevertheless, I strongly believe that the advantages of new mothers taking several months away from work far outweigh the problem. Firstly, women exposed to a maternity leave policy can more easily recover from the suffering of being pregnant and delivering a baby. This is especially important to those who experienced a caesarean operation. Lack of such a rest may lead to serious physical and mental problems. Mothers on leave can also ensure infants will be better cared for. For example, babies who are breast-fed are less likely to get a variety of infections and are also at lower risk for asthma and obesity.
In most of the nations, organisations offer maternity leave to female employees for the initial few months after giving birth to a baby. Although this approach has few demerits, I think that its merits exceed its demerits.
Allowing a break of a couple of months to a woman on becoming a mother has some disadvantages. Primarily, it would affect the company’s productivity. In other words, having less workforce availability in the office to work on a task means less work done by the staff. Moreover, this practice may put an extra burden on other employees to deal with the work of the absent team member. Secondarily, it also becomes somewhat challenging for the lady too, who is on maternity leave because she might lose the track from her regular office work. Thus, She will face some challenges to cope with the ongoing project after returning from a long holiday.
On its bright side, thanks to having a break for a couple of months, the new mother gets plenty of time to recover from the weakness that she confronted after having a baby delivery. This might develop a sense of positivity and loyalty in that women towards her organisation. Furthermore, during the initial days, it is a dire need of a newbie to have proper care, so it becomes extremely imperative for the mother to stay with her child. Thus, this long holidays gives her a chance to do proper nurture of her young one.
In conclusion, while offering holidays to women after baby delivery has some cons, on the view of the above stated, it is quite evident that the pros of this trend outnumber the cons.
