Task 1 IELTS Letter Sample

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this letter to inform you that I can no longer continue the part-time computer course that I have been pursuing for three months.

I have a full-time job and a demanding boss. I have to be in the office from 9 am to 5 pm. Sometimes I have to work overtime to complete my pending tasks. I work in the city center but live in the suburb which means that I have to spend over two hours a day in commuting between office and home. Sometimes I reach home as late as 8 pm but my computer classes begin at 7 pm. As you probably remember, you have often reprimanded me for being late.

What’s more I am extremely tired when I get home back from work and have little energy or interest in studying in the evening. So at the moment, the only option I have is to discontinue the course.

I am looking for another job near my place of living. If I manage to find one, I will be able to continue this course. I am hoping that then I will be able to resume from where I stop now.
