Band 7.5 IELTS essay sample

It is an undeniable fact that humans have significantly damaged the ecological balance of flora and fauna. Although some people opine that there exist no remedies to initiate a change, I believe that it is still possible to reverse these adverse impacts on the environment. This essay will discuss the former and the latter arguments in detail.

To begin with, some people believe that nothing much can be done to reverse the damage caused to the nature. This is because the governments are not taking enough initiative to curb the overuse of fossil fuels and reduce the deforestation. For example, it was reported by International Organisation for Climate Change that the damage caused by global warming is irreversible because most of the governments have failed to act seriously. However, the government can improve the situation by amending the law and making it more stringent by including penal provisions.

However, I am of the view that that there are a lot of measures which can still be undertaken by the government and people to reverse the adverse effects. The government should make policies to reduce the consumption of plastic and fossil fuels. As a result, there will be less pollution and these measures will gradually lead to recovery of the mother-nature. To illustrate, countries like Bhutan has completely eradicated the consumption of plastic and since then there has been a significant improvement in the growth of flora and fauna. Thus, these actions can help to undo the harm caused to the environment.

To conclude, despite the fact that some people may not have any hopes in relation to the improvement of the environment due to the lack of efforts taken by the government, I believe that there are a plethora of options available such as implementing stricter polices and curbing the usage of plastic to overcome these issues.

Man-made changes cause many negative effects on fauna and flora all around the world. It is argued by some people that these changes are irreversible, while others think still we have time to bring the earth back without any loss in biodiversity. This essay discusses the two above mentioned arguments in detail.
Many people believed that a significant number of plant and animal species have already extinct from the earth. There are arguments still on-going that human activities such as deforestation, heavy usage of plastic and emission of greenhouse gases are the primary factors of the extreme reduction of these species. In addition, global warming, as a result of heavy industrialization, has led to the raise od sea level which is also already started threatening the existence of many animal species. However, people strongly argued that nature took so long time to evolve all these species, though irresponsible activities of human have ruined nature within a couple of decades.
On the other hand, part of people believed that emerging techniques in science have the ability to bring nature back to into problem-free era. For example, firstly, genetic engineering has an excellent capability to reintroduce extinct species to nature. While many sustainable development concepts would allow not only encourage many eco-friendly developments but it would help to reduce the deteriorating effects on the environment. As a result of the above-listed approaches, still, we have hope to re-design our earth without any negative consequences.
In conclusion, in my view, even though man-made changes have deleterious effects on fauna and flora, still, we have opportunities to repair all these negative impacts. However, every single person should be concerned about their activities which effects the environments.

It is commonly believed that human activity may have a detrimental effect on worlds flora and fauna. What is more, there seems to be a discrepancy among people, regarding the fact, whether some actions should be taken to minimalise the impact humans have on nature or if it is impossible to achieve it.

To begin with, the supporters of a change believe that there is a way to modify peoples approach to plants and animals. Not only do they want to raise awareness around society, but also provide some actions aiming to stop people from destroying our plant. It could be done for example by the government by endowing pro-environmental foundations to make them organize events about the importance of preserving the environment on a daily life basis.

On the other hand, the opponents of the change believe that it is already too late to make humans perceive animals in a different way. Moreover, for them, there is not enough respect and for plants and animals around us. In the opponents’ opinion, people usually don’t tend to care about the repercussions, that their actions may have to nature. Sometimes also, they are not willing to take actions due to the fact they simply don’t want to waste their time.

In my opinion, albeit it seems absurd, it is not necessarily impossible to stop people from destroying our planet. I am personally the supporter of taking actions to change peoples approach to nature. If we do so, in 50 years time the difference will be huge!

In conclusion, it seems to be extremally important to make people care about nature and to do everything possible to stop them from destroying it. Even though they may not care at first sight, earth and its flora and fauna will always be their natural habitat.
