It is often argued that government should allocate more budget to the railroad system than roads. In this very, I agree with the mentioned statement because a well-connected railroad system can be lucrative and convenient both for passengers and freights and facilitates journeys.
There are several reasons why investing money in the railway would be beneficial in conveying
goods. The main one is safety. Recent years have witnessed an increase in the number of cars,
resulting in many road accidents that make them inappropriate for transferring commodities. In
addition, traffic congestion on roads that lead to transportation hubs makes it challenging to deliver vital loads such as military fragments and more secure ones in the space industry on time, making freight trains a better mode for load transferring.
Moreover, railroads provide passengers with a convenient trip and top-notch quality service without getting stuck in bottlenecks. It is satisfactory to rest on ergonomically designed seats and beds, use the restroom easily, and have a perfect meal without any tension for waiting on long queues of roadside restaurants. Furthermore, some luxury trains are designed so that passengers can play pool or watch movies in some places like cinema. Also, emergency healthcare provision is provided with a bit of extra charge that makes trains an exceptional mode of transport.
In conclusion, allotting money to roads is understandable, given people’s demands and car
increment. However, if it is at the expense of more accidents and, in the worst case, more mortality rate, it is not logical to spend money on them, and the priority should be railways.
