According to some people, new railway lines should be built for super fast trains. Others insist that spending money on existing transport networks is more important. While I do admit that existing roads and rail networks should be improved, in my opinion, it is equally important to invest in superfast trains.
No doubt existing public transport systems need to be improved. After all, they are the lifeline of a country. They connect every nook and corner of the country and facilitate the transport of goods and people. The best thing about public transport is that it is affordable and accessible. Also, by improving the frequency and reliability of buses and trains, the government can discourage the use of private vehicles. This will reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality.
However, improving the existing roads and railway lines alone will not help. It is important to embrace new technologies as they arrive. Super fast trains are one of them. They significantly reduce the travel time between places. This is important in a vast country like India or China. For example, traveling from Kashmir to Kanyakumari on a bus or a train takes 4 or 5 days now. If there are superfast trains, this travel time can be reduced significantly. This will give a big boost to trade and tourism. Of course, these trains will require a large initial investment, but the return on investment will also be pretty high and hence it is justified.
To conclude, superfast trains are the need of the hour and hence I fully support spending money on them; having said that, it is equally important to improve existing public transport because an efficient network of roads and trains is the backbone of any economy.

People are dependent on public transports for everyday work in many countries. It is necessary to improve the existing facilities for public transport as it will save time. However, this fact cannot be ignored that new and faster railway facilities should be constructed between cities using greater finances for the convenience of people. I believe that government should use its finances for the redevelopment of railways altogether with better facilities.
Modernised facilities often leads to convenience. New and speedy railway lines will be much more convenient in terms of saving time and exhausting travels even though a huge amount of money is invested in it. It will be much more faster with newer technologies and connecting many more cities than what already exists. For instance, in India, the city of Mumbai has taken up a project to construct metros for better connectivity even though local trains are popular there.
On the other hand, people use public transport on day to day basis to go to their work place. They are used to the ones they have been travelling with since a long time. Some people believe that these existing facilities should only be improved as it will not consume much time and money, moreover they are habitual to the systems. An evidence of a poll suggests that two thirds of the population prefer for the betterment of the railway lines they are already been using.
Although some people believe it is better to improve the existing transport facilities, the need for the development of new and better connecting public transport cannot be overlooked. I opine, it is better to invest in the advancement of new and faster railways as it will save a lot of time.
This seems band 6.5 to me.
Nowadays, travelling via various mediums has become a vital part of our lives, and people use it daily. Some individuals believe that using a significant amount of money to develop a new railway for quick travel from one place to another is essential. Others think that funds should be spent on upgrading existing transportation. In my opinion, creating new rail lines can help in many ways.
To begin with, it is worth considering that expanding rail track save people’s time. They can reach their destination in less time. Some railways like metro, it is not only fast train but also more convenient to citizen compared to another mode of transportation. Furthermore, when it comes to price, trains are cheaper because more seats are available and more people are travelling. These affect in a positive way to people who can not afford expensive tickets.
On the other hand, we live in an age where a number of us face traffic-related issues. Instead of spending money on a new railway, if the government improves the road quality for transport, as a result, it can decrease the traffic problems. Sometimes trains are packed in terms of seats consequently at that time taxis and buses are the best option for travelling. For example, the American government faced an issue about lack of seats in the train, they improved their public transport in 1990, after that there has been decrement in the complaint of seats.
In conclusion, developing all transportation help us to make a better world, but spending a large amount of money on one particular transport causes a problem for all.
