Each nation has individuals who are surviving below the poverty line and work so hard to meet their basic needs. Each country deals with this issue in their unique manner. There are numerous causes of world poverty and they can be eradicated by taking some measures.
Poor people are mostly illiterate and they perform menial jobs for survival. Even if they have desire to learn, due to their financial situation, they are unable to study and this leads to unemployment. These people lead a hand to mouth existence and do not have the means to educate their children. For example, in my country poor people encourage their children as well to work so that they can earn more to meet their daily needs. There is no way they can get out of this vicious cycle.
Poverty can be reduced by providing people free education facility and by allotting scholarships for them to increase their interest towards learning. For instance, even after the government provides free education some poor parents still refuse to send their children to schools and colleges as they feel children cannot earn for survival if they go to school. In such cases if the government provides free meals or scholarships to students, parents will also allow them to pursue education. Educated people can acquire well-paying jobs which will change the lives of their future generations. Ensuring minimum wages will also help. The government needs to ensure that every person earns at least enough to survive. Providing education, healthcare and food grains for free or at subsidized rates to poor people are also other measures that the government can take.
To conclude, the government can take several measures to eradicate poverty. Providing free school education, offering meals at subsidized rates and ensuring minimum wages are some of these measures that will help.
