Task 1 IELTS report sample
The bar chart shows the number of male and female participants of four different evening courses at an adult education centre in 2009 while the pie chart groups them into five different age brackets. Except for the sculpture course, all other courses had considerably more female students than male students. Additionally, older students had a higher interest in courses than younger students. The language course was the most popular course with 40 female and 20 male students attending it/ enrolling in it. The popularity of the painting course was more or less the same among male and female students with 25 men and 30 women taking it. Meanwhile, in the drama course 20 women and 10 men constituted the class. As for the sculpture course, which was the least popular course, the number of male students was twice as much as the number of females with 10 learners in 2009.
As far as different groups are concerned, 42% of students were aged 50 and above. The next age bracket who showed more interest in learning was those aged 40-49 years old. 30-39 year olds comprised of 16% of the total students. Also, Just 5% of the students were under 20 years of age.
