Sample letter

Dear Sir or Madam:

I would like to do the three year diploma program in hardware engineering offered by your institution and I am writing to enquire about the possibility of obtaining financial support for the same.

I have always been interested in hardware engineering. After finishing my high school last year, I did a 6 months hardware program. While it helped me learn the basics, I need additional qualifications to find a job in this industry. I am confident that your course will equip me with all the skills I need to be a hardware engineer. I have got the academic credentials required for joining this course.

I come from a low income background. Although I have a part time job, I don’t earn enough to pay for this course. That is the reason I am asking for financial support. I have heard that your college provides financial assistance to needy students. Could I have more information about that?
