Tourism has acquired diverse dimensions over the years. Today, a large number of people are heading to places where conditions are pretty hostile. There are both advantages and disadvantages to this trend and I will discuss both of them in this essay.
On the one hand, there are many advantages to visiting remote areas.Firstly, tourism strengthens the economic conditions of such places. With more tourists arriving in a country the economy of that country grows manifolds. Secondly, tourism industry is the main provider o) employment in such areas where people cannot find any other means to earn a livelihood. Thirdly, to support tourism many roads and hotels are built in remote areas. These facilities are also used by locals and hence, they too are benefited.
On the other hand, this kind of tourism has its disadvantages too. Firstly, local people find it difficult / challenging to share the already scarce natural resources with tourists. For instance, water is already scarce in the desert areas and with more tourists coming in the life becomes really hard for locals. Secondly, many places in the Antarctic and Himalayas are already under threat due to the influx of tourists.
To conclude, in my opinion, the positive aspects of visiting dangerous places like Sahara and Antarctica outweigh the negative aspects. What’s more, tourists can take certain measures to ensure that you are not causing much damage to these ecologically sensitive areas. For example, they can ensure that they do not litter around.

Nowadays, many people prefer to visit places with extreme climates / temperatures. There are both advantages and disadvantages to growing preference which I will discuss in the following paragraphs.
On the one hand, people prefer to visit difficult places because those journeys are more adventurous and a lot of people like adventure. Also, those experiences are new and exciting because they have not experienced anything like that before. In addition, visiting difficult places helps people test their limits and conquer their fears. Once they successfully complete the journey, they feel a sense of exhilaration that they cannot experience if they opted for a less challenging trip. Another advantage is that when people visit such places, they learn to live on very little because many of these off-beat travel destinations do not have even basic amenities. Learning to survive in such places will enable people to look at their life from a different perspective and be grateful for the things we take for granted in the modern world.
On the other side, there are lots of disadvantages if people visit such places. It may have adverse effects on the health of the people because sometimes they feel uncomfortable in such types of environments. In addition, we frequently hear about people who died during such trips because they were not able to live in such hard weather conditions. In some cases, people get lost in deserts or mountains.
To conclude, visiting places with difficult conditions helps people to push their limits and gain more confidence. However, such journeys can be dangerous if adequate safety measures are not taken.
Thanks to the advancement in technology and communication, nowadays more people are interested in exploring challenging destinations like Sahara deserts or the Antarctica. In my opinion, this trend advanced the people to take more challenges. However, more risks involved in these destinations.
On the one hand, choosing deserts or snow-covered regions are beneficial for the tourists. They will get more opportunity to take some live challenges in the journey. As this kind of touring is highly unpredictable, the experience is too adventurous and the results provides a better level of satisfactions. For example, it is too special and proud if someone is trekking over a desert alone rather than do it in a normal area. Consequently, it can generate high excitments in the tourists than visiting normal destinations.
On the flip side, this kind of exploration involves a lot of risks. There may not be any one to assist in the touring which results a lot of stress and struggles for the tourists. Moreover, the people need to perform high risk tasks in the journey without any safety equipment or an experienced guide. To examplify, the presence of black ice in the snowfall area is often unknown for a newbie, hence the chance of a fall is very higher which results in some life threatening accidents.
In conclusion, although choosing to travel to an unknown and less visited places in the world can give an adrenaline rush, it is too risky and less safe to be a part in such tours.
