At the present time, the population of some countries includes a relatively large number of
young adults, compared with the number of older people. Do the advantages of this situation
outweigh the disadvantages?

Nowadays, the size of the young population in some countries is far more than that of older ones. This essay will express some main pros and cons related to this development. However, in my opinion, the advantages of having a young population outweigh the associated disadvantages.

There are several reasons why an increase in the population of youths would be disadvantageous. The main problem is related to employment. It is evident that more demand for a job leads to more unemployment and, as a result, less salary. Therefore, young people have to do low-paid jobs irrelevant to their major and interest. For example, in our country, Iran, most of the jobs for youngsters are competitive, resulting in pressure on applicants and the prevalence of anxiety disorders among them.

There are, however, several benefits to having a fresh and young society. That is to say, having an enthusiastic and motivated workforce is critical for the development of the countries, in particular developing ones. Young labor has lots of new ideas along with the energy that can be devoted to industry, economy, and even politics to make fundamental changes in the light of the wisdom of elderly ones. For instance, young teachers can be beneficial in schooling children because they can understand the world of children more accessible and have a better relationship with them.

In conclusion, the strain of young people on society is understandable, given the increment of
demands for food and other needs. However, it is beneficial if this is at the expense of technological advancement.
