In some countries, there are more young people than old people. While I do admit that this situation does have some downsides, in my opinion, the merits of having more youngsters certainly overshadow the demerits.
To start with the benefits, the youth play a vital role in nation building. Young talents are an asset to the society because they are ready to explore any situation without fear. They learn new ideas and techniques faster and can produce excellent results while older people are slow to master new technologies. In addition, if more young people work efficiently in different sectors of the industry, the economy will reach higher levels in a very short period. What is more, young people are healthier, so when they account for a greater proportion of the population, the government can reduce its spending on healthcare. Overall, having more young people is largely beneficial for a country.
On the other hand, there are also a few drawbacks to having more young people. To start with, they are inexperienced. For example, a young professional who has just started practicing as a doctor does not enjoy the same reputation as an experienced doctor who has been seeing patients for decades. When people fall ill, they will want to go to the old doctor because they trust his experience. Obviously, a country needs a fair number of experienced and wise elderly people. Another downside of having more young people is that if the government cannot provide enough jobs for them it will lead to several social and financial problems.
In conclusion, there are merits and demerits to having more young people in a country. Even so, in my opinion, a young country is more likely to healthier, happier, richer and more productive. Hence, I believe that the benefits of this situation outweigh the demerits.

In some countries, there are more young people than seniors. Although there are a few advantages to this trend, I believe that it has more disadvantages. I will discuss both views in the following paragraphs.
The primary advantage of having more young people in the society is that they are an asset for the nation. Since they have more enthusiasm than the older people, they might learn the latest technological developments faster and bring in some modern ideas in the market, which would strengthen the economy of the country. As per the survey of Global Times, many older people are not aware of the usage of numerous smart devices applications such as WhatsApp, Uber and Amazon, so they often take assistance of their children to use those applications. Besides, younger people enjoy good health and hence the government does not have to spend a lot on healthcare. Hence, that money can be utilized in some other sectors such as education or infrastructure, which would improve overall growth of the nation worldwide.
Nevertheless, one of the demerits of having more young people is that they might be less knowledgeable. As they may have just started their career, they might have less experience in their field than elderly people proficient in his career. Hence, many people in society consider scheduling a meeting with a person who is expert in his field. Take medical field as an example. A doctor who is experienced in his field and has been seeing patients for over a decade will be preferred by patients rather than a doctor who has just started practicing in his field. In addition, seniors can guide youngsters in life as they have spent many years on earth dealing with ups and downs. Thus, they can follow the correct path after such guidance.
To conclude, while young people do offer some benefits for society, I believe that a community with a greater number of old people will enjoy greater benefits due to their experience and wisdom. Hence, I believe that having more young people is not exactly advantageous for society.
