Band 7.5 IELTS essay sample
It is believed that art plays a vital role as it portrays the significant value of cultures and traditions in the society. I agree with the argument that art ought to be taught at school; however, in my opinion, students should focus on every subject that is taught to them and not just arts.
Studying art could relieve the stress and tension that school children are going through. In other words, take music as an example. It has a higher capability of soothing young minds. In addition to this, many art subjects are beneficial for developing cognitive skills such as creative thinking in children. Nowadays, the majority of schools and childcare centres use art based activities to keep children occupied and help them overcome boredom. On the other hand / however, there is no need for children to give greater importance to art subjects than other subjects like science or maths.
Moreover, it would be advantageous for the future careers if children engage in studying technological subjects. This does not mean that music, arts, literature and other artistic subjects should be completely ignored; rather students should focus on them as well. There are plenty of people who became great authors, musicians and actors by following arts.
In conclusion, it can be clearly seen that learning art subjects will bring positive outcomes for children. However, they should strike a balance between art and science and give adequate importance to all subjects.
