Band 7 IELTS letter sample
Dear Sir or Madam,
I recently came to know from one of my friends that your science museum is looking for some people to volunteer and I am interested to offer some of my time for the work at the museum.
About myself, I am a junior-year physics student at the community college in town. I have been looking for some extra-curricular activities to strengthen my resume. As yours is a science museum, I think that volunteering in the museum would greatly add value to my resume. Moreover, I like to explain science concepts to others and volunteering in the museum would be a perfect opportunity.
In addition to my interest, I have good communication skills attained from planning and organizing science exhibition events in my college. My knowledge in fundamental concepts in physics will also come handy when talking and explaining to the people visiting the museum.
If I am given a chance, I will be able to work from 3 pm to 6 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays during weekdays. Over the weekends, I can work from 9 am to 12 pm on Saturdays only. In a month, I can follow the above schedule only in the first three weeks. I will not be working in the last week of the month.
I am looking forward to hearing from you soon. Please let me know if you need any more information.
Yours faithfully,
Prabhakaran
