Band 7 IELTS letter sample

Dear Sir,

I recently read an article published in your magazine where it asks your readers to give suggestions about the book that influenced them the most. So to make the best of my contribution towards it I penned down this letter. The book which I am going to describe is written by the famous writer Salman Rushdie and the name of the book is Midnight’s Children. Basically, the plot of this book revolves around the partition between two different nations during 1947 on the basis of religion. It tells about the life of a refugee woman – how she is abandoned by her husband and hardships faced by her during the separation.

After reading this book, I was deeply affected by the atrocities done by mob on the innocent people.  I became a bit anxious and it hurt me a lot .The storyline of the incidents of partition are depicted very nicely in this book. If any individual is studying history as a subject in college or having an interest in the history, they should definitely read this book.

Moreover, reading such a novel would give a better understanding of various historical events of the past. Further, broadening of knowledge on this topic occurs. It would change the attitude of radicals how to view the world. Further, it would promote peace among different religions.

Hope suggestion of this book will be beneficial for the other readers.

Best wishes,
