Band 8 IELTS Letter Sample

Dear Sir / Madam,

I am writing this letter to recommend my old teacher Joseph Peng for your award for humanitarian work.

He works as a Teacher and is the most suitable person who deserves to win this competition because of his helping tendency, humbleness and kind nature. I know him from my childhood as I studied in his class when I was in the fifth grade.

He was my mathematics teacher. In addition to teaching Math, he used to tell many stories which taught us the values of life and thus, he became my favorite primary teacher. Though he is not wealthy he runs an old-age home in our area for helping elderly people abandoned by their families. It is a great success. While his charity receives some donations from the public, it mainly runs on his own contributions. Helping others is his passion.

So, I request you to enroll him for your competition and award him the prize. This will motivate other kind-hearted people in our neighbourhood to also contribute to the community.

Thank you for your consideration.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully,

Clara Smith

    Dear Sir/Madam,
I am writing to nominate a candidate for the community competition which was advertised on 27/12/2019 in your news paper.
I would like to suggest Satish, a former NCC student of our school. He is currently studying 10th class and always stood first in class. He has good grip of mathematical formulas and always exhibited interest in resolving complex problems. He has inspired many students and challenged opponents in many mathematical competitions.
I am working as a teacher in the same school in which Satish is studying. Although, I did not taught any subject to him, in many school functions I have heard his name. On the last teacher’s day eve, he awarded for his mathematics work at such a young age.
Apart from his studies and school life, he has also actively participated in community school program. In this program, he taught technical studies such as computers, science and mathematics to the orphan children. He educated adult people in knowing the importance of education.
I would be grateful if you could consider his deeds to our local community and nominate his name in the competition.
    Thank you for your time.
    Yours sincerely,
    Brains Brown.

    Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter to recommend and nominate Mr.Joseph Diaz , a renowned Research scientist from our home steed community for the community award held by your esteemed newspaper.

Mr.Joseph often fondly called “Daddy” among his closed circle; was my thesis supervisor during my graduation in the year 2018 at St.Laurent university. He is known for his work on sociology ,and was awarded one of the prestigious doctorate award honoring his work by our university. during 2019.Moreover ,when I was facing a lull period owing to my financial liabilities on educational loans,he took effort out of his own interest to help me find funding in order to continue my research studies.

He has not only been a contributor to the field of science ,but has helped the under privileged youths in our community to a great extent through his “Right of free education” program. He has sponsored more than twenty adult teenagers for their basic schooling and further helped them in self employment for their regular source of income while studying.

He has been an unsung hero all through these years among many children and students in our community. With that being said,I strongly believe his contribution to the field of education for the poor has been immense and would be just the right choice for your honorary award.

Looking forward for a positive outcome from your end in respect of this great man.

    Yours faithfully,
    Rogers
