Band 8 IELTS letter sample

Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to inform you that unfortunately I left my mobile phone at table no. 5 of your Le De Crown restaurant situated in Oxford Street. I visited your restaurant on January 3, 2020 and my bill number is Xyo0598.

Last weekend, I along with my three friends visited central London and decided to have dinner at your multi-cuisine restaurant. Since I the best camera quality phone, everyone was clicking pictures with it and I accidentally left my phone at the table and realized it only after reaching Aberdeen. It is an iPhone X in rose gold colour with a pink glossy cover which gives it a different look. Also, it has small scratches on the screen.

When I dialed my number from home, the waiter named John assured me that phone was safe, and he would give it to the bar Manager. I am really thankful to your cordial staff members for keeping it safe and now I request you to send it through courier to the address on the envelope. Kindly share your bank account number so that I can transfer the courier charges.

I apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused to you and I eagerly wait for your quick response.

Yours Faithfully,

Parker Kate

    Dear Sir,

I am writing this letter to inform you about my mobile phone which I forgot in your hotel.

Three days back, on friday, I had lunch at your restaurant. I was on a business meeting in Jaipur, otherwise I am from Delhi and I made a pit stop at your hotel for a meal before leaving the city. In the hurry of catching the train, I have forgotten to pick up my cell from the table (Table number 17) I ate food.

It is an android device from Google, named ‘Pixel 3’ with allover black color including the glass at the back. I put it in a leather case which is from brand Gonoise. For further verification of my identity you can see the lock screen wallpaper of my device that displays my selfie and email address.

Now as I have reached Delhi, since I noticed it in the middle of my journey but was helpless. I request you to send it to my home address, provided with this letter, through fastest courier service of your area. Because it was totally my fault, I will pay the charges incurred in the shipment and will come to sat thanks in personal whenever I come to Jaipur.

    Hoping for a positive response.

    Yours faithfully,
    Funkie
