Band 8 IELTS letter sample

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing this to inform you about the issues I face in the Knightsbridge Residence facility of the college.

I am a senior from the medical school and share apartment #402 with an undergraduate student from the Music Academy. Firstly, the decision of the residence management to allocate the same room to a medical student and a music student itself proves that they didn’t take compatibility into consideration.

Secondly, my roommate prefers to stay in the room during most of his free time and practices his instruments at home. Sometimes the music is very loud and unbearable, especially when I have to prepare for my research papers.

I am a senior student and have to prepare for my dissertation and presentations most of the time. I prefer to work in my laboratories; however, I have to bring work back home, in order to prepare for next day’s research. I do not have any personal animosity towards my current roommate; however, our study subjects demand different lifestyle.

I kindly request you to allocate accommodation for me in Boroughfield residence, where most of the residents are from Medical faculty. It will also help me in better preparation because of the same peer group. I sincerely hope you can accept my request on priority.

Yours faithfully,

Thomas G

    Dear Sir/Madam

My name is Miguel Chaves, I am a student in the college and am writing this letter in regards to the accommodation that I am sharing with a classmate.

Currently, I am living in a spacious residence close to the college building and I love being so near. Furthermore, not only is the room cosy but it has also an amazing view. however, I am facing multiple problems with my roommate Jhon.

One of the most pressing issue is that he is too loud. I am not able to find a peaceful moment neither at morning nor at night, which it does not allow me to do important things such as study, work and rest. In addition, he brings his friends to the room and they are smoking inside, resulting in my clothes have an awful smell.

Due to the aforementioned reasons, I wish you could help me to find a new place. If it is more expensive, I will pay the extra cost as long as I can relax. It is important to mention that I do not want to share my new place with any other people.

    Best regards,
    Miguel Chaves.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

I am writing this letter to highlight the difficulties I am facing due to the accommodation allocated to me.

I am a student in science department and currently performing research on data analytics as a part of PhD degree, due to which I need to stay in department library for long hours. I have been allotted a room in hostel number 3 which is about 4 KM from my department, thus makes me difficult to commute in late hours. Moreover, my current roommate is participating in upcoming musical band competition and has to practice violin in the room. Hence, it is very difficult to concentrate in the room.

I would request you to please change my accommodation from hostel number 3 to hostel number 9, as firstly, it is relatively closer to my department and ease me to travel between hostel and department. Most importantly, I do have a friend who is also performing the research in same field is also staying there, thus help both of us to discuss the matter.

    Yours Sincerely,
    Sunil
