Band 7.5 IELTS letter sample

Dear Sir,

I am writing to you to express my utter dissatisfaction with my college accommodation. I vividly remember that at the time of my admission, I was promised a single room. However, later on, due to scarcity of adequate rooms, I had to stay in a twin sharing room.

Let me explain my situation. My roommate often sleeps late and watches television at loud music. Therefore, I am not able to have sufficient sleep. As a result, I am not able to pay attention to my lectures in the following mornings. Moreover, my roommate normally arranges late night parties in the room without my knowledge / consent. It creates a lot of disturbance to me when I try to study in the evenings in my room. Lastly, to my utter shock, since the last two weeks, he has been taking money from my purse without informing me. I believe this is not a good practice.

Thus, I would like to request you to arrange a single room for me. If that is not possible, kindly shift me or my roommate to another room. I would prefer to stay with someone who is quiet and co-operative.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours faithfully

Meenu
