You Have Received A Letter From Your Bank | Band 8 IELTS Letter Sample

You have received a letter from your bank, asking you to acknowledge receipt of a new bank card. However, the card was missing from the envelope. Write a letter to the bank’s head office. In your letter:

  • explain why you are writing
  • express concern about the missing card
  • ask them what they intend to do

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to inform you that the debit card was missing from the envelope when I received the courier today morning. My existing debit card is nearing expiry; hence I ordered a new card a week ago. Two days ago, I received a notification from your bank that the card had been sent by courier.

As mentioned, I received the courier this morning; however, the card was missing and the envelope was in a bad condition. I am worried that it could have been stolen.

In this regard, please take necessary action by blocking the card and ensure it will not to be used for illegal purposes. In addition, I would like to request you to send a new card as early as possible because I must use it for my upcoming trip.

I look forward to hearing from you.

    Dear Manager,
    I am writing in response to your letter dated 24 November 2019, reference no ABC12345. I received the letter yesterday, in that it was mentioned about the debit card details and at the end there was customer’s signature for acknowledging the receipt of the card.

    Unfortunately, when I opened the envelope, there was no card attached to the letter. Hence, I doubt that the person responsible for sending the letter might have missed attaching the card. Therefore, I would like you to trace the card with the concerned team. Also, I want you to block this card with immediate effect so that even if the card is misplaced, transactions cannot be done from it.

    Since I have not received the card I would appreciate if you can reissue new card and deliver it to me as early as possible. I am traveling out of country on 10 December and would require this card prior to that. I hope you investigate this matter and check your internal control processes with respect to issuance of cards.

    Dear Sir or Madam,
    I am writing this letter to inform that my card was missing when it delivered to me in the morning through speed post. The envelope was completely torn out.
    Two days ago, I received a message from the bank stated that they dispatched the debit card through speed post. As I mentioned, when I received the envelope this morning, card was missing. I think may be someone stolen it. I am really worried because it can be misuse by different ways if it is in wrong hands. Moreover, my old card is going to expire within a few days and I have to go outside country within a few days, where I must use it for several programs.

    I request you to please cancel the new card at the earliest, because of security reasons and kindly send a new card as soon as possible.

    Dear Sir/Madam,

    I am writing to bring in your notice that I found debit card missing from the envelope which I had received today morning from courier. It looks like someone had taken the card from the envelope or may be bank forgot to put the card inside the envelope before sending it to me. My existing card is expiring next week; considering its expiring date I had requested the bank to issue a new card for me.

    I am running an import/export business in Dubai and I frequently required my card to make my payments. I will be in a great trouble if someone has stolen it or if i received it late from you.

    In this regard, please do the needful action by blocking the card with an immediate affect to avoid miss use. In addition, I would like to request you to send me a new card as early as possible, so that I could use it for my future transactions.
