Some people think that a good diet and exercise are not necessary for a healthy and long life. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

According to some people, diet and exercise play no role in health and longevity. I certainly disagree with the statement, as a good diet and exercise regimen are of paramount importance in maintaining health.

A nutritious diet plays a vital role in maintaining good health. Consumption of high calorie, unsaturated fats and high sugar containing drinks poses a serious threat to a person’s health and increases their chances of developing health problems such as obesity, diabetes and heart trouble. To avoid these health problems, it is important to follow a healthy diet consisting of green leafy vegetables, dry fruits, and extra lean meat. A balanced diet provides protection from various health problems and thus enhances the longevity of people.

Meanwhile, exercise is as beneficial as a good diet. Working out every day can benefit the body in a great way. Exercise helps to keep the joints moving and increases the stamina to perform vigorous activities. It aids in digestion, sleep and elimination of toxins out of the body. In other words, it cleanses the body and provides relaxation. Therefore, exercise has many advantages that facilitate to keep the body in good shape. The need for medical assistance is also reduced and one can spend a disease free long life.

In conclusion, while some people may vary in their views, I think everyone should incorporate exercise and healthy diet in their lifestyle to add more years to their life.
