Band 9 IELTS essay sample

According to some people, the academic success of a student is determined by the teaching skills and dedication of their teachers; others insist that a student’s attitude towards learning is the key factor that determines whether he will be successful or not. Both views will be discussed in this essay.

On the one hand, it is impossible to write off the contribution of a teacher in the learning process. Teachers impart knowledge. They clear doubts and guide students every step of the way. Talented and dedicated teachers motivate their students to work hard and help them achieve better grades. Teachers are like second parents and they know the strengths and weaknesses of their students and device teaching strategies appropriate for each one of them.

On the other hand, a student must have a strong desire to learn and improve if they are to get good grades. No matter how good the teacher is, if the student lacks the desire to learn nothing can help them. That also explains why every class has some students who never get even the passing marks. The same class will also students who scored an A plus grade in each subject. All of them are taught by the same teachers but their scores vary simply because their attitude towards learning is also different. Some students have a strong desire to learn. They will work hard regardless of whether the teacher is good or not. Actually, they will work harder if the teacher is bad. Also, in this day and age when classes are readily available on the internet, no student can blame teachers for their poor grades.

In conclusion, the teacher certainly has a role to play in the educational success of the student; however, the role of the teacher is not more important than the attitude of the student towards learning. A student determined to achieve success will achieve it regardless of whether the teacher is good or bad.

Some people believe that educational success depends on good teacher; others think that it depends on the attitude of the students. Discuss both the views and give your opinion.

Over the recent years , academic success has become a controversial issue as some section of a society opine academic success truly rely on teacher whilst others state student behavior plays a vital role. This essay shall shed light on both these views and then my opinion on the matter.

Teachers are considered to be second parents of the Studnets as education being offered by them so as per some section of a society student success highly depends on the teachers. If teachers have enough knowledge about the subject accordingly student can clear the exam with flying colours. Nevertheless doubts clearing sessions plays a vital role and if they have enough acknowledgement subsequently doubts can be resolved before writing a test or an exam. Henceforth excellency of a student merely depends on mentors.

To add further credence, student’s motivation and interest is a must without it success cannot be even think. How great and adroit teachers are but a child do not study with diligence and show inactiveness good grades cannot be expected. Thereby child’ s attention and dedication needed without it success cannot be achieved even though teacher’s excellence also plays an crucial role.

To recapitulate, I am an adamant supporter that children’s interest is necessary without the guidance of a mentor as well one can clear the exam with flying colours. So child’s future utterly depends on them not on teachers.

People have different opinions whether academic success of students relies on their own attitude or their teachers. While a good teacher paves the way for students, I feel that it is eventually students’ own attitude that can bring about success.

Good teachers guide students how to perform well in studies. For this, they impart knowledge to their students in an easy and interesting way by using suitable pedagogical methods. Only efficient teacher can know the strengths and shortcomings of their students and mould their lectures in order to enhance their efficiency. For example, if students are less capable of comprehending a concept of Science by lecture method, teachers make them understand by using alternate methods such as practical, discussion or demonstration, which not only makes the topic easier, but also interesting. These small efforts of teachers integrate to become a reason behind the pupil’s academic success.
Nevertheless, I believe that teacher’s efforts become zero if students are not working hard to chase the success. Ultimately, students’ devotion, will power and hard work become decisive factors of their educational success. For example, although Albert Einstein was expelled from school, it was his curiosity to know about the universe that drove him to do endless and persistent hard work and brought about numerous findings to the world. Therefore, students’ attitude towards study is the dominating factor in academic success.
In conclusion, even though teachers’ contribution in students’ success is significant, I reckon that the attitude towards success is the factor that can crave a niche in their prosperity.

  3. Academic success is something that can only be achieved by conscious involvement of both a student and a teacher. While the opinion regards to the subject differs person to person; in my opinion, when effective teaching methods are combined with ambitious students the results are astonishing. This essay will explain both sides of the view and my point of view.

On the one side, despite the fact that teachers are trying to improve their teaching practises as they see education is getting tougher and students are even hard to deal with. But without considering their efforts students are failing all the time in proving themselves because their lack of interest in academic subjects. If this was the scenario that students will score high in guidance of highly qualified and experienced teachers, all the international schools were ought to produce extraordinary talents.

On the flip side, numerous students belong to the local schools which are unable to provide good quality education as they lack funds and talented masters are getting top ranks in board examinations. For instance, in India every now and then we can see that children belong to backward family background who can not afford education in institutes are scoring 90 up per cent. This evidences that if a leaner have single minded devotion towards study nothing could be a hindrance towards the goal, not even the poor teaching methods.

To conclude, ambitious learners can learn themselves so they do not need any push forward, these are exceptional cases though. Therefore, those who are not interested in studying can also be diverted all the way to becoming scholars with the help of teachers and those who are already goal oriented are going to get success any way. So, I think, the considerable involvement of both the parties is more or less important for effective result.

    – People are using a lot of online language translation apps. Do the benefits of this outweigh the disadvantages?

Due to globalization, popularity of language translating applications have been grown up. People from different cultures, geographical locations are more likely to use language translating software. I strongly agree with the statement given and their advantages surely outweigh the disadvantages. In this essay, I will discuss about the example of current apps and relevant information from the newspaper.
On the one hand, there is an ample evidence suggests that, usage of mobile phone is beneficial for both social and business life. People migrate from their home country to another in order to build a meaning full future and to start the business with overseas companies. So that is why, learning a second language has become priority to many people. There are lot of language translator companies allow people to access their software during their travelling, meeting and so on. An individual can easily download the apps from Play store and App stores. In addition, there are various translating apps such as Grammarly, Ginger allow translate language from one to another.
On the other side, weather language apps benefits to the public but it rises the questions of existence of native language schools. A recent study on newspaper has shown the drastic reduction in demand of native language tutor. For instance, one has to add their name and email address in the free language learning apps. It takes years and years to study under professional learning teacher. In addition, talented people are having a fight to justify themselves in this world.
To conclude, I believe that, these apps sure provide us instant and quick information and that can be beneficial to the community in large and in future their flexibility will continue to be improved.
