Band 7 IELTS essay sample

In the contemporary era, culture is pretty much similar around the globe in comparison to the earlier times. This has become possible due to the advancement in the technology sector as well as globalisation. Although, identical culture of the countries removed the communication barriers and made the world a global village for festivals/events celebrations, it has posed a major threat to the indigenous cultures of myriads of countries. Moreover, the loss of cultural-diversity can be perilous for global tourism industry. I will discuss these points in the subsequent paragraphs.

First and foremost, common culture eliminated / removed the communication barriers among countries and thus increased trade and commerce. As a result, economic prosperity has been observed among developing and under-developed nations. Moreover, the world has become a global village where festivals of all religions are celebrated with great zeal and zest. For instance, Christmas day is celebrated all over the world with immense enthusiasm and this has broken all the walls and united the entire world.

Conversely, identical culture is posing a humongous threat to the indigenous cultures as people prefer to follow the trending cultures and traditions. Consequently, moral values which we learn through/from our culture and traditions are dying. Another negative aspect is the risk to global tourism industry. As most of the holidaymakers tend to visit places to explore different food and cultures, having a same culture globally could diminish the number of visitors exponentially. This can result in huge loss to global tourism companies and they might not be able to bear the losses. Hence, they will be forced to close down their businesses.

To conclude, admittedly, a common culture eradicates the communication barriers and promotes unity through global festivals and events. Nevertheless, it is dangerous for indigenous traditions and moral values as well as poses a threat to tourism industry at large.

Globalization has a huge impact on cultures worldwide. It has been observed that now there are identical cultures across the globe in contrast to earlier times. In my opinion, this is a positive development as it helps people to get connected and build their understanding about other customs.

Admittedly, nowadays cultures and customs are similar internationally in comparison to previous times when these things were completely opposite and less known. In older days people did not use to travel much and had limited knowledge about other culture) especially about foreign cultures. Owing to globalization, indigenous values and customs started spreading globally and it / this helped people to understand and appreciate other cultures. For instance, owing to the establishment of a plethora of foreign companies in India, most of the companies have also started celebration of festivals such as Diwali and Holi along with festivals such as Thanks Giving Day and New Year. This teaches people to appreciate other cultures.

Moreover, the merging of cultures of the nations worldwide gives people an opportunity to perform their rituals and still find acceptance among natives and non-natives. For instance, when I was in Dubai, I witnessed many Indians there celebrating Holi and the state government encouraged this. I also noticed that many natives also participate in such festivities.

In conclusion, because of the growing trade and commerce between countries, we see the merging of cultures everywhere today. In my opinion, this is a positive development because it helps people feel at home everywhere.

With the proliferation of globalization, the world has become a small global village having the same traditions. While it diminishes the regional cultures, I believe that it has brought many benefits to all countries.

Due to the influence of the western culture, people are inclined towards the eminent international languages like English, French and German. This has removed the language barrier among individuals throughout the world. As a result, they emerged local businesses in every corner of the earth that is rising the economy of developing countries and increasing people pay of already developed nations such as the USA and Canada. For example, India has become an Information Technology(IT) hub because the developers of software industries who are multilingual can easily interact with clients all around the world which has enhanced the overall economy of India to 3 percent.

Admittedly, this phenomenon is lessening the local cultures, as a result, many regional traditional values and diversity are on the edge of extinction. Culture is an identity and heritage of our ancestors so it is our responsibility to take care of it and save for the next generations. To take an example of the culture of Punjab, the citizens are getting used to western fashion such as t-shirts and trousers and leaving their traditional clothes such a kurta pajama and turban behind which are the identities of their culture. On the flip side, such disadvantages are negligible because this trend has uplifted many nations.

In conclusion, in my opinion, although the same culture in all over the world impact local cultures but it is advantageous to all nations.

The modern world is witnessing a convergence of cultural values across the globe. This can be attributed to the fact that the latest technology and media has eliminated barriers of communication and norms are shared within geographically distant parts of the world. I believe it to be a favorable scenario as the same has not only brought nations closer, increased trade and tourism but has also helped immensely in decreasing national prejudice and racism.

The foremost benefit of cultural amalgamation is spreading the message of mutual respect, love and peace among different nations. Hence, mitigating demographic differences and promoting excitement and interest in other cultures. Consequently, people to people contact globally has increased and they are observed to standby each other in times of festivals and celebrations. For instance, events like Christmas, Diwali and Chinese New year are celebrated throughout the world. Thus, depicting the merits of shared cultural values among nations.

In contrast with the old days, youngsters are more inclined towards diversified cultures by learning different languages, adopting fashions and making friends across the borders. This has paved ways for decreasing differences and opened doors for mutual discussions, ultimately developing respect and honor for others. That is why a whole range of multinational cuisine is available in prominent hotels and eateries due to the growing acceptance and demand of the customers.

Moreover, the merger of cultural values has resulted in breaking trade barriers and the world has now become a global village, where businesses are surpassing their own trade volume records every year. This is the reason that call center services outsourced in India helps the British corporations to provide excellent customer services to their clients, who simply could not identify the speaker’s location and nationality.

In conclusion, it is established that similarity among the cultures is an extremely positive scenario and will prove to be a promising development for the world’s peace and prosperity.
