Model Answer

The Manager
Landmark Bookstore
Mumbai

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to you regarding the book ‘Northern Lights’ which I couldn’t find in any of the bookstores in my locality. Written by Philip Pullman it was first published some 12 years ago. Since then over 15 million copies of the book have been sold.

‘Northern Lights’ is a story which revolves around the struggles of a boy and a girl. It was recently declared the winner of Carnegie Medal for the finest book for children published in the last 70 years.

I am an avid reader of all kinds of books. I particularly like those books written for children. Needless to say, I am very keen on reading this book. Unfortunately, none of the bookstores in my city have a copy of ‘Northern Lights’ with them. In case you have a copy of this book, I request you to kindly send it to my postal address. I will make the payment on delivery.

Hoping to hear back from you soon,

Kind Regards
Manjusha
