Band 9 IELTS Letter Sample

Dear Tom,

I received your letter two days ago and I am so glad that you want to find a job in China. Yesterday I discussed this with one of my friends working at Baidu, a large IT company in Beijing, and he told me that they wanted to hire someone who could be responsible for their new English version website. I think this job is really suitable for you, because they want someone who has soft programming skills and perfect command of English.

I know you have great interest in soft programming and you taught me a lot about how to design a website when I was in Canada last year. You even showed me lots of amazing websites and online games that you created yourself. So I think this job is really suitable for you. And since English is your mother tongue, you will not have any problems about it.

You can find information about the vacancy on their website. Search for the English version of the Baidu Corporation online. If you have any questions about this vacancy, please feel free to contact me.

Hope to hear from you soon.

All the best!

    Dear Chris,

I’m just writing to tell you about a job opportunity in a company near to my office that I feel suitable for you.

The position is as Customer Service Manager at Jotun Paints, and the main duty is to handle their clients. You might be asked to deal with customer complaints and to ensure timely delivery. I’m sure that there will be a need to contact customers frequently.

I felt feel that this job will suit you the best because your qualification and experience well matches with it. As you opted Customer Service Management as your specialization during your masters, this job will be a perfect option. Also, as you’re familiar with the subject, it will be easier for you to crack the interview.

To apply for this vacancy, you should directly go to the careers page on their website. There will be a list of vacant positions, and select this one and click on the Apply ‘Apply’ ikon icon. Furnish the application form with relevant details and submit it.

    All the best,
    Greeshma

    Dear Alexis,

I just got your mail on Christmas. Thank you for the delicate card as well as my favorite TWG tea bags. I am so glad to know that your intension to seek a job in Taiwan. The good news is, there is one that perfectly suits you.

After some discussion with many of my friends and acquaintances, Mr.Chang, a assistance manager of TSMC, said they are interesting in you. I met Mr.Chang at our university lab in Hsinchu where the headquarters of TSMC is located. He told me that they wanted to hire a expert at both field of chemical engineering and electric engineering so as to be in charge of their newly-founded lab. Hopefully, you will be a manager of R&D department of the company.

I have known that you have written some papers about semiconductor when we were at college. Since I have read some of those, I am sure that will impress them and convince them that you are second to none for the position.

Did you remember John? He was my classmate in my high school years and he showed us around the city of Hsinchu when we went on a trip to western part of the island two years ago. He is now a vice manager of TSMC. If you have any question about this vacancy, he will be glad to help you. And, last but not least, in the following is the human resource manager’s mail address. Linlinda@tsmc.com

You can show off your Mandarin proficiency when talking to them. Feel free to let me know when you need somebody to practice with you. Good luck.

    Hope this would help,
    David

    Dear Clara,

I’m glad to learn you’ve finally made up your mind to seek greener pastures in my country. You’ve in fact made a wise decision considering the poor economic state of your country. Yesterday, I discussed with my boss about your job search, and luckily, a friend of his just opened a cafe and is currently in dire need of an attendant. Coincidentally, this job matches your vast experience as a volunteer attendant in your uncle’s restaurant.
However, there are key things you need to know about this job, which may differ from your current work.

Firstly, the remuneration is not as quite high compared to the wages of other similar companies within this vicinity. The reason is that the company is new and the owner had spent so much on infrastructure, furnishing and registration. On this note, he intends to curtail further expenditure by hiring few staff and keeping the wages low. It’s only about $3 difference with what others pay, and there will be a written agreement to increase staff salary after one year.

Aside the fact that you have passion for this kind of job, there is arrangement for the staff to be officially trained and opportunity for ongoing training as well. This will indeed prepare you well for university education whenever you’re ready for study. In addition, the money you’ll earn in the process will go a long way in helping your family back home, considering the current currency conversion rate, I forgot to mention that the business owner will be providing free accommodation for you, so in essence, you’ll be better off than those who receive high salaries and still pay high rents.

If you’re interested in this job, please send your resume and cover letter to me as soon as possible. I’ll hand these in to my boss, who will in turn forward them to his friend.

    Yours truly

    Alvan.
